This is a very nice athletic mesh. Slick hand, great drape. Acts a bit more like a woven than a knit; the stretch is minimal. It has a silky-smooth feel on both sides. The dimples are not "open" like a mesh football shirt; the fabric is solid. It is mostly opaque, if translucent. (See pic--you can see the outline of my hand behind the fabric in strong light.) I had intended to use it to make pants, but this fabric needs a lining for modesty. I think it would make a better shirt, or perhaps as an outer decorative stripe on pant legs?Cold water wash and machine dry low worked out fine--no shrinkage or distortion, no fraying. When sewn into a less-cumbersome form, like a shirt, this fabric will be quick to air-dry.This fabric is much more like a dri-fit fabric than a mesh. It still did the job I needed it to do (swimsuit lining) but it was not really what I expected.I liked that this was a yard of fabric. I didn’t like that my version of navy (and I’d venture to say most peoples also) doesn’t match this. I understand that the color on my screen isn’t what I should expect. I can look past that. However, the blue I received is much lighter than navy. Also, the quality of the fabric leaves much to be desired. What can I do though, I don’t want to go in a store to touch what I want before I buy it so I have to settle with poor item descriptions online. The fabric wasn't as meshy as I had hoped. The holes ("mesh") are so tiny that you really wouldn't know it's mesh at all. Not really what I was after but quality looks good. Not their fault.Wow, this fabric usually costs about $9 a yard, but I only paid a few bucks a yard through this vendor. The fabric is exactly the same kind used in making dry-fit tech sports shirts. The fabric is little thicker like when the first dry-fit shirts came out, unlike the thinner dry-fit fabric used on today's shirts. I bought 10 yards and made 7 shirts and I still have enough left over to make 3 more.I have been searching for wicking cloth in fabric stores and fabric sections in variety stores ,but was informed this material from China had been discontinued.I was very excited to finally find wicking fabric and plan to order more.It is a thin material which wicks water away from the skin. I use this soft smooth material for my bird's play table as it is easy on his arthritic feet and absorbs fluid leaving his play area dry.I have also found this fabric easy to clean; adding a small amount of Clorox to the wash water removes stains.I do recommend purchasing this fabric. The texture and functionality are fine and I a happy customer. Price was very good and shipping very fast. But the shade of Navy was not really clear navy - on bit off it toward a denim blue. Still for my project it works. No complaint here.Fabric shopping is a thing i usually only do in real time and place, so I can see and handle the fabric before I buy. Therefore, I shop online for fabric only for projects where the fabric requirment has wiggle room, so that I can use it even if it is not exactly what I had in mind.I am happy customer and Thank you very much.Like for making Non-disposable nursing pads.
