Now I’m no drummer, by any means. This kit, though, fills a spot for me that extends all the way back to my childhood. Back then, in the 80s, the only options seemed to be a crummy electric kit with fake drum sounds or a traditional kit. Neither of which my parents would have ever bought for the ensuing noise fest and therapy that surely would have followed. Fast forward many years and the Sears catalog has progressed to the Amazon experience. I did a little research on this kit, not extensive, but enough to feel good about my purchase. For the money this kit felt like a great start for this beginning drummer. The AssemblyPutting this thing together does take a little bit of time and the instructions are not crystal clear. If you pay close attention to the photos and endure a bit of trial and error, you’ll get it together. It took me about an hour. Most of the time was spent figuring out which part of the frame goes where and ensuring that the ends of each piece slot in correctly. Be sure to loosen brackets as you go so that each piece will slide in easily. Tighten things up and you’re on your way.The TrialAgain, I’m no drummer, which was clearly evident in my initial attempts to play along with Dave Grohl tracks. Note: Probably not the guy to try and keep up with right out of the gate. That all being said, the kit sounds great, I think. There are about 10 different combinations of kits creating plenty of sounds for me to play around with. The base sounds real, snare, crash and high hat. Pretty cool. Everything is adjustable, like a real kit, to fit where you want things. Just takes some messing around for it to feel right. Kind of like finding that sweet spot in a new car seat. The cymbals were a bit quiet relative to everything else and plugging in your iPhone to play along via the auxiliary jack is cool, but the sound quality isn’t great from the iPhone. I plan to solve that by just playing through a stereo. Then adjusting the drum volume to the optimum level to both play along while still hearing the song. I have not yet toyed with all the settings, but will over the next few days weeks, actually reading the manual- novel idea.OverallOverall, I’m really happy with this kit so far, albeit just a few days. It’s sturdy feeling, enough so that I feel I can beat up on it a bit. It can be folded up a bit to be tucked against the wall. It’s fun and relatively intuitive. Most of all, I’ve got my first kit many long years after pining over lesser options from a tattered Sears catalog back in the 80s.This is an amazing kit. Super excellent sound quality while still being at an entry-level price. My son loves playing on these drums. I don't even play drums and I absolutely love playing on these drums. If you're looking for a great quality kit that is still affordable and will last you a long time, definitely get this.I will say, the instructions to assemble are not great, but there are many excellent YouTube videos walking you through the assembly so just use that instead of the sub-par instructions. This electric drumset is terrific for beginner drummers like myself. The only downside I guess is you can’t upload your own sounds and the sounds are a bit limited. Overall, if your looking for a quiet drumset that sounds real, this is the one for you.I ordered the Turbo Mesh kit to be an add on to a larger Lyxjam set. Trying to save some money, I ordered this product as "used". It came a day early and other than a quarter sized scuff on the box, it was unopened and in perfect condition! Easy to assemble and surprisingly well built. The only downfall to this kit is the bass drum pedal. It is not an upright with a beater and therefore lacks the spring back, so you have to play it heal down but, after a few minutes you can get used to it. I was going to also order the Nitro to go with it but luckily, I did not as the Nitro's frame is thinner for some reason so the two frames would not be compatible if combined. I recommend getting "Reaper" and "SSD5" (both free) if you want to change the sounds of the drums yourself. This kit is a really good bargain. If it is ordered "used" make sure it ships from "Amazons Warehouse" as you can trust it to be unopened more than likely. From anywhere else, you're taking risksGreat drum set for a beginner or to have on hand as extra when quiet is needed. The 10 sets it comes with are pretty decent. One mimics an old 909 a few jazz sets hard rock sets and a set of tabla and bells. But with usb out I use it to control drum plugins on my daw so the possibilities are endless. Mesh heads have great responce way better then old pads. On the sets it comes with the cymbals are low in volume. But if using it as a midi controller you can adjust that. For what I wanted it for its perfect and an awesome price at that. Pero si lo llego a saber, hubiese esperado a ahorrar más y me hubiera pillado una de gama superior.I had Roland's HD1 before these, which are one one the if not THE best starter drums. This set for £260 is amazing! Heavy solid metal rack but not to heavy to transport. Super easy to fold in disassemble, 7 acoustic kits,3 world sounding kits. Only for light gigging I would say. Mesh heads feel ace, dual zone drums/cymbals,no choke or double base pedal option. Beginner to intermediate.Total rubbish, had 3 kick pedals fail in 6 weeks. After the 3rd failure Alesis UK support "inmusic" asked me to return the pedal the control module and the wiring look for full diagnosis. I received the control module back in the same box completely unopened with another pedal that will undoubtedly go wrong again in the next week. Support rep informed me that they will just keep replacing the pedal like for like until the warranty runs out.Crap product, crap support, I will be returning and buying a Roland instead.I am new to Drums , i had to buy some headphones as it does sound better.I have been using it through the guitar amp and it sounds ok.I was non stop thinking Nitro or Turbo and decided on the Turbo. Why?It is smaller and i dont have alot of space and the kick pedal isnt a proper kick pedal but its less noisy if you had a upstairs flat and i need to move soon. The hi hat isnt loud but the default setting on each kit is set to volume 28. It goes up to 31 but it could be alot louder. With the Alesis DRP 100 headphones which has noise canceling it does sound better. You dont hear the taps on the hi hat with headphones on.I was thinking about the throne and headphones bundle but the headphones are not the DRP 100 in that bundle. So is it good for beginners?, yes it is but no rimshot , proper kick drum or dual zone like the Nitro. But Turbo is Smaller and does the job and as a beginner , i don’t need rim shotsThe negatives is that the lessons is misleading , anybody can get the 60 free lessons and yes wait for it.They are 5 mins a day only. You can only sign up on a PCThen you have to subscribe a yearly fee if you want to have more lessons and if you want to use your iPad.So I signed up and can’t use as my Pc as it Is old and I can’t use my iPad as I’m not paying to subscribe.I also have loads of emails now from that company. So I would not bother to sign up for them and it’s misleading and no mention on the 5 min a day limit.I hope I can help others
