This net weighs over 20 lbs dry, and over 30 lbs wet. Do NOT buy this net if you have shoulder or joint pain. Do NOT buy this net if you are not physically capable of lifting and throwing 30+ lbs with ease. This net sinks very fast. It will catch mooneye, skipjack, and large shad effectively, even in clear water (4+ feet visibility). Caution- 3-4 inch shad will get their heads stuck in this net and it took me an hour to pick 300 small shad out of my net. If you cannot throw the net you have now and make perfect circles every time, then this net is not for you. I can throw this one because of 15+ years of experience and an avid weightlifter, but this net is still difficult for me. I would recommend an 8 ft or smaller if throwing from a smaller boat, kayak, unstable surface, or over railing such as on a pier.
